THE ARTIST SHOP

The Artist Shop, founded by multidisciplinary artist Birim Erol, is a new alternative to the artist's tradition of presenting themselves in Turkey. Located in the center of the street and with an open showcase, the Artist Shop is a space where the artist comes out of his own habitat, and the audience can witness the art production process. Artist Shop is a framework for Erol's artworks in different disciplines and styles, and also, an iconic meeting point that brings together various performance arts, exhibitions, events, and conversations.

Artist Shop brings the distance between art and daily life closer by creating a historical reference to Tracey Emin's The Shop and Claes Oldenburg's The Store. Erol is defining a space for art among the movement and stories of the street by making his works accessible and touchable to the audience.
